Testimonials

My mother's tiles were old and ugly, as she has been living in the same house her entire life without ever really taking care of her tiles. I called Tile Cleaners to get advice on what to do with them. They came to her house the next day to have a look at my mum's tiles. I am very satisfied with how patient and highly professional you were with my mother. I am sorry I couldn't be there when you arrived, and I am really impressed by how you managed to explain everything to my mom and help her out. Thank you for doing a great job.

FAQ :

  • Q: Is it necessary to seal my grout?
  • A: If you want your grout lines to remain fresh and crisp and their original colour then yes. Many manufacturers will say it's an unnecessary expense but when you are down on your knees scrubbing the grout lines you will wish you had them sealed. It will also increase the lifetime of the grout, particularly in wet and outdoor areas.
    • Q: Why should I seal my stone surface and when?
    • A: Natural surfaces are subject to deterioration and degradation of appearance through traffic, UV rays, moisture, rain, chemicals, and other impurities such as oil, gas, grease, acids and salt. This can easily result in common problems such as cracking, pitting, scaling, spalling, delamination, dusting, discolouration, efflorescence, salt damage, etc. Sealing offers excellent maintenance benefits when quality products are used such as Australia's Deepshield™ deep impregnating sealers. Sealing a stone surface will provide effective protection against permanent damage but spills should still be cleaned up as quickly as possible. There are different sealing methods for different natural stone surfaces. Sandstone, Terracotta and Limestone must be sealed before the stone is laid and grouted. All are very porous and will soak up stain carrying liquid from the adhesive, grout etc very quickly. Terracotta in particular is immensely porous and should be sealed front, back and sides before laying. Limestone is also particularly vulnerable and gloves should be worn when handling it as finger marks can stain the surface and will not necessarily show until its too late. Granite, Marble, Slate and Travertine are sealed on all edges and the top after being laid and grouted. These floors must be thoroughly cleaned prior to sealing.
      • Q: What process can I expect when you come to clean and seal my Slate tiles?
      • A: Tile Cleaners $custom_city® professional team will go through the job processes with you step by step so you know exactly what you're getting. The process includes stripping any previous sealer if it was applied, the slate is then thoroughly cleaned and neutralised so that it is free of dust, residue and anything else that can affect the new sealer. A new sealer is applied to the dry slate floor and allowed to set. The newly sealed slate floor will not only look new again, it will be protected and result in your slate becoming easier to maintain.
