Testimonials

We got our tiles more than 25 years ago. We were told that we had a solvent sealer on our tiles, which apparently most companies wouldn't be able to strip off. However we rang a couple of places to check them out. No luck. A friend of mine recommended Tile Cleaners. We rang the guys and they agreed to have a look the next day. We decided to go ahead with the job after getting a satisfactory quote. Tile Cleaners team stripped and resealed our old tiles. We are very grateful for your help guys. Thank you again.

Other FAQs :

  • Q: How do I know if my limestone floors need sealing?
  • A: Tile Cleaners $custom_city® advises the simple "water test". The water test is well known in the stone industry and it will help you determine whether your limestone floors require sealing. First you need to place a few drops of water on your stone and let it set for around 10 to 30 minutes then wipe it dry. If your stone did not darken, it means your limestone is perfectly sealed and does not require sealing, but if it has darkened, it means that the water was able to penetrate your stone and sealing is required.
    • Q: Why is it important for me to have my limestone tiles sealed?
    • A: Sealers are different from polishes and are actually designed to keep liquids and dirt particles from sinking into the natural stone. It is extremely important to have your limestone tiles sealed. All limestone tiles should be sealed when they are first installed; this initial seal can last up to 15 years. It is important to call us as soon as your limestone floors are installed so we can protect them before any accidental permanent damage occurs.
      • Q: What is acid etching and how can I protect my limestone against it?
      • A: Any acidic substance is harmful for your limestone tiles, they can be etched (eaten/corroded) easily and sealing against acid attack is very difficult. The best way to protect your limestone tiles from acid attack is to seal and clean spills immediately. The high porosity of stone based tiles makes sealing a must in order to provide protection against future acid attack and liquid spillage.
